Grammar:

1. The attributive genitive

1) When a personal pronoun or a noun is used as an attributive genitive, it generally takes the structural particle “的 de”, e.g. “他的书 tādeshū” “陶的同事 Táode tóngshì” and so on.

2) When a personal pronoun is used as an attributive and the headword is a kin term or an institutional one, “的 de” may be omitted in the attributive, e.g. “我哥哥 wǒgēge” “我们公司 wǒmen gōngsī” and so on.

2. The structure of the sentence with two verbs in a row in

If there are two verbs happen in a row in the sentence, we need to put these two verbs in the order that they happen with no extra link words between them, e.g. “我去见一个客户 Wǒ qù jiàn yíge kèhù” “我去超市(supermarket)买水果(fruit) Wǒ qù chāoshì mǎi shuǐguǒ.”
